He has a special interest in Psychopharmacology and Psychotherapy, with a focus on treating anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, and attention deficit / hyperactivity disorder.
After graduating from The University of Maryland at College Park, he earned his medical degree from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery, Des Moines, Iowa. He completed his Residency in Psychiatry at the Karl Menninger School of Psychiatry, Topeka, Kansas. Following that, he received an appointment to the Menninger Clinic Faculty until joining Woodmont Psychiatric Group in 1986.
Dr. Book is a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association (F.A.P.A.). He is also a member of several local and national medical organizations, including:
